The cities of Fontana and Ontario in addition to Caltrans District 8 have joined forces to develop Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) technology to create an integrated Smart Corridor between the freeways and major arterials in the area. This was done by deploying traffic management elements in the city of Fontana and traveler information elements in both Fontana and Ontario, while deploying technology to share information between Caltrans District 8, Fontana Traffic Management Center (TMC), and the Ontario Traveler Information Center (TIC).

As a result of this project both arterial and freeway road condition information for the Fontana / Ontario area is now available to the public from these Web pages. The road condition information is displayed in a graphical map. Along with the congestion information on the traffic map, traffic events (e.g., incidents, advisories, etc.) are visible. Cameras to view current traffic in the area and Changeable Message Signs (CMS) to view current travel advisories are also displayed on the map.
